OUR CONTINUOUS FUNDRAISING EFFORTS!

Giving back to every community we live and play in is extremely important to us and part of our daily life.  The Haliburton community is our playground, and we love to support the local community in every way. Once we opened the doors of Red Fox Lakehouse to our guests, we knew we wanted to do more as a small business in the area! We suddenly weren't only cottagers, but small business owners employing locals, and becoming aware of the reality of some of the hardships in the region, including energy poverty. We knew we wanted and needed to get involved! So we started to help raise funds for the Heat Bank Haliburton County in the Fall of 2020.  Offering 2-night stays of Red Fox Lakehouse in their annual auction is one way we've been giving back each year. We've now raised approximately $8,000 through our auction donations, personal donations, and our beanie fundraiser (listed below) which has gone directly to the Heat Bank's annual fundraising efforts.

During the Fall of 2023, Haliburton Cottage Company teamed together with Hali Custom Co. to initiate our beanie fundraiser!  We sold our Haliburton Cottage Company branded beanies, made by Hali Custom Co., with 100% of the proceeds ($15 per beanie) being donated to the Heat Bank Haliburton County. We even covered the shipping costs of the beanies for our Ontario customers!

Together, we raised $1,300 for the Heat Bank Haliburton County! We were thrilled with the interest in our fundraiser, and with the results! We hope, in our small way, we have informed more people about the great work the Heat Bank continues to do throughout the year,  while we raised much needed funds.

Haliburton County is a beautiful place, but it also has one of the highest rates of energy poverty in Canada. Having heat and hydro are basic necessities that not everyone can afford. The Heat Bank is on a mission to keep homes warm and create opportunities to help those living in poverty.
